Mick Wormall Takes the Win in Fast Series #2

FAST SERIES #2 7 NOVEMBER 2014

Second Fast Friday meeting at the Motorplex started well the weather was beautiful with only a slight breeze but heaps of sunshine, 17 cars at the meeting which is fabulous to see.

1st heat W21 Jason Jones started off the front line and lead all the way, W46 Mitchell Wormall made Jason earn his first ever heat win with third place going to W8 Chad Gordon. Melissa Hartigan came in 8th for her first drive in a wingless sprint, well done Melissa!

2nd heat went to W11 Steven Rice after a good duel with A1 Daniel Hartigan coming second and third went W23 Tom Payet, another great heat and driving by all the guys.

3rd heat was a hard fought battle with W45 Mick Wormall taking out first A1 Daniel Hartigan coming in second and W46 Mitchell Wormall getting third. Both Daniel and Mitchell both getting top 3 finishes in both their heats well done guys.

4th heat went to young gun W3 Matt Iwanow who is driving like he is a veteran to wingless sprints not his fourth race meeting, second went to W23 Tom Payet for his second top 3 finish for his heats and third was W29 Ashley Pittard.
16 of 17 cars started for the feature race, the cars looked amazing and all the different colours was a great sight to see. Both drivers and car owners should feel very proud.

The 15 lap feature race started with both the Wormall cars W45 Mick Wormall and W46 Mitchell Wormall off the front row with W3 Matt Iwanow W23 Tom Payet off the second row, Daniel Hartigan and W11 Steve Rice making up the front 6 cars.

The feature race was a wonderful spectacle to watch, W45 Mick Wormall took the lead in the first couple of laps and drove like a man possessed. The battle for second and third went for lap after lap between A1 Daniel Hartigan, W23 Tom Payet and W46 Mitchell Wormall with all the young drivers not giving up their position without a fight. The racing throughout the night was clean and fair with all but one car finishing the feature race.

The end result was W45 Mick Wormall taking out the win, over A1 Daniel Hartigan holding on for second place and W46 Mitchell Wormall just getting over the line for third from W23 Tom Payet.
