With the start of the season tomorrow I thought I would touch base with you all and let you know a few things that are happening this season.
Firstly I have been made aware that there a number of owner/driver that are still trying to get their scrutinized, you are leaving it very late, please be aware that you may not get your car scrutinized in time or get your logbook for the start of the season. There can be up to a 10 day turn around for both of these things getting done.
The people that are able to daylight your cars are
Des Nash (phone number and email available at http://www.winglesssprints.net.au )
Rob Trenaman (phone number and email available at http://www.winglesssprints.net.au )
Kim Beard
Dave Southwell
Dean Gittos
Garry Walsh
Phil Taylor
If you need your car day lighted please contact Rob or Des and they will point in the right direction of who will be able to do this for you. Also make sure you have all your paperwork done this includes club membership, medical and Speedway Australia license paperwork organised. Your logbook will not be given out until funds are cleared in the club’s bank account.
Nominations
Please be aware that the club has agreed with the Motorplex that ALL late nominations will be ROF for all heats. You will need to nominate with both the Motorplex and on the AWSR website. You should all have your login and passwords if you don’t please contact Chadd Aitken and he can help you with your AWSR login. This is your responsibility to ensure that this happens.
Rookies
If you are a rookie you are required to have race tape on your car and race a minimum of 3 meetings starting from the ROF and after the 3 the club officials and chief steward will make the decision if they believe you are able to start in the field at the next meeting.
New Driver Questionnaire
To the new driver joining the club this season you are required to do a questionnaire to ensure that you have an understanding of the rules and regulations. I will email this out to you (I will also have copies of this at the track over the next 2 meetings) you will need to complete this before the start of the race meeting on the 17 October 2015. If this is not completed you will be unable to race.
The Keen Quip Chassis and Panel Kit Prize criteria for this year will be as follows.
10 points will be awarded to each driver for attending the meeting plus points for finishing the feature race. If you would like to be in the running for this prize you will need to have a Keen Quip sticker on your car at each race meeting, the sticker will need to be displayed above the rear wheel tyre line anywhere on the right hand side of the car. These stickers will be handed out at the race meeting on the 10 and 17 October at the Motorplex.
The winner of the chassis/panel kit at the end of the season will be the driver with the least amount of points from their feature races finished plus the allocated points. There will be a minimum of 9 amount of race meeting to be eligible.
This is the criteria the Paul Keen has asked for.
Drivers Meetings.
At each race meeting there will be a driver meeting where you will need to bring your logbook for collection, the drivers meeting will be at trailer #57 tomorrow afternoon at 4 – 415 This is your responsibility to make sure you attend the drivers meeting, if the driver can’t attend someone from your crew can attend in your place. Logbooks will be available for collection at the end of the race meeting.
The club raffles and bbq’s
Through out the season I will try and organise a couple of raffles, these will be available to all members associated with the wingless sprints club, the money will be used towards the trophy night. If anyone has anything they would like to donate as a prize towards a raffle please let me know.
There will be a handful of club bbqs at the end of race meetings during the season and we will let you know where and when these are happening. This is a good chance to share a beer with other club members and “discuss” the nights racing.
Trophy Night
The trophy night has been booked already at Golden Ponds on Saturday the 21 May 2016. Last season this was a great night and we look forward to seeing you all there enjoying yourselves again.
We have a number of new driver this season, I would like to welcome you all to the club and look forward to having a successful season but for this to happen we all need to work together.
Thanks
Julie Thompson
Club Secretary
